My blog originally started off as a place for me to post pictures of our kids for family far away. I’m not sure how many of my family members ever read in those early days though. As I wrote and posted, I discovered that I loved writing about our life and that certain themes kept presenting themselves (gardening, chickens, etc.). So after much encouragement from the Husband, I went public. The blog is still a journal of our daily lives, however, so besides me and the Hard-working Husband, here is the cast of characters.
Henry -
Our first-born, our first love. Sweet and patient, smart and inquisitive, and a hard worker with big blue eyes that could just melt you. He’s five and full of life.
Emmett -
Funny and dramatic, Emmett is the daredevil. No one can hold him down or back, and he’ll charm your socks off. He’ll be trouble with a capital T and his middle name might really be Danger. Look out.
Cora -
The baby girl. Adored by her brothers and a good sleeper, we are still learning about our littlest one. But we do know this, she has a smile as sweet as pie.
In addition to being an urban farmer, I am a CAPPA certified childbirth educator. I am passionate about natural childbirth, breastfeeding, the state of health care in our country, and educating women about their childbirth choices. You can visit my birth-pro site, SweetSprouts.org for more info.
Because there is a shortage of positive birth stories on the web, and because I really can’t share them on my professional page, below are links to the stories of my own children’s births. All three are quite long, and not really applicable to urban homesteading, so I put them on separate pages from my main blog.
