Happy first day of Spring! This weekend we were able to spend a lot of time outside… the perfect way to celebrate!
Here are a few photos of what we found in the gardens this weekend as we were cleaning out all the beds, planting a few seeds here and there, trimming last fall’s stalks, etc.
Also this weekend we converted Emmett’s crib into a toddler bed. He is growing up fast this spring! So fast that we are switching him to his big boy bed this week (a twin size that matches Henry’s new bed) since it has better rails and he already fell out of the toddler bed twice so far.
What did you do to celebrate Spring?
Do you have a rain barrel under your downspouts on the house to be used to water the garden?
Aunt Betty – rail barrels are illegal in cities where municipal water is available here in Colorado. So, no. But I want one and we’d like to figure out a way to collect water somewhat covertly in the future.
A lot of people here break that law – but I’m not sure what the punishment is if you get caught (or, more likely, turned in)??
We have spent a lot of time playing outside…exploring the rhubarb poking it’s little pink and green above the soil…planting spinach and lettuce and carrots…and clearing lots of sticks from the yard.
mmm… rhubarb! I planted a few seeds – hoping I get something this year!
