Basores and Bee-Bee Shower

shower basoresWhat a great weekend!  My cousin, Michelle, came into town for the weekend, and we Basore girls had a great time.

I started the weekend off at the salon, getting my hair done (Thank you Richie – it’s great!), and I actually splurged and got my eye brows done too.  Then I met up with Cat & Michelle at the mall and did a little shopping, followed by dinner at my sister’s place.  We had a blast staying up until 1:00 am sharing stories, laughing and munching on yummy food (THEY were also enjoying a few drinks, alas I had to refrain).

Saturday, Cat & Chellbert went for a hike, and then we all met up for lunch at the Tavern in Lowery.  Yum-my!  Followed by pedicures, a bit more shopping (at Cry Baby Ranch of course), and then dinner at the Thunderbird.  Great burgers!

Anisa Jenny TawnyaSunday, we had brunch at Pearl Street Grill, and then got ready for my BEE BEE Shower!  Jenny threw a beautiful shower for Tawnya and I.  Here, loyal readers, is your one and only pregnancy picture!

The shower was great.  We played a “Famous Duo” game where everyone had a famous duo on their back and had to ask yes or no questions to figure out who they had.  I had Forest Gump & Jenny.  But I saw some other great ones like Peanut Butter & Jelly, The Blues Brothers, Abbott & Costello, Death & Taxes, etc.  :)   It was a fun ice breaker, and totally appropriate since the shower was for both Tawnya and I, and it was for each of our second babies!

There were a lot of people there… Tawnya and I each had a guest list invited, so it was a big party and a good time.  Jenny made adorable Bee Cupcakes.  SO cute!!  And delicious!

We each got to open our gifts, and had plenty of time to chat with everyone.  It was so fun to see so many friends, many I hadn’t seen in a long time!

Rick and Henry crashed the shower too.  Rick came to Henry’s shower as well… he just loves parties, especially one for his kiddo!   They went to the park for most of the shower, and came home hot and tired!

After the shower, Michelle came home with Rick and me, and we went out to dinner at Hapa Sushi.  My mom came too, and we had a great time.  I hadn’t had sushi since my birthday, and Hapa was soooo good.  :)   Even Henry ate pretty well, though that’s not too surprising.

After dinner it was more late night chats until all hours with my cousin.  :)

My BoysWe had fun talking about our dads and telling each other stories that we heard growing up about the two of them… getting certain facts corroborated, as it were.  Also, hearing that Floyd Hill in Clear Creek County is reputed among our family to be named after our grandfather was fun (my mom has debunked this one, but I’m still going to pretend it’s true).  My uncle Stu did say there are some lakes on Guanella Pass called Basore Lakes though, and I’m going to look it up and see what I can find out.  Fun!

In between all of this, Rick managed to keep Henry entertained and get more work done around the house, and I’m sure I swept about 27 times in three days.  :)   It was a great weekend.
