Helpful Henry

So after the ‘To-Do List’ post a couple weeks ago, Rick came home and said something about wasn’t I wanting to re-arrange the house?  So we did.  We made the move for all the rooms, and it was a lot of work!  But I am really happy with how it turned out!  The office is now in the smallest room in the house.  Forcing me to be more organized and, well, it’s nice in here!  Even with the chicks spewing dust all over the furniture I just dusted after the move!

We were without internet for almost a week, since this room didn’t have a phone line for our DSL.  But after some debating, and two trips to home depot, we got the line installed without drilling a hole in my hardwoods.  Rick did a great job, and Henry was eager to help!  Above, you can see (click the thumbnail) him checking out the installation on the office end of things.  Rick cut a hole in the plaster and drilled up through the flooring (under the wall) to run the line.  He had to get into the crawl-space and run the phone line through the whole house. Notice all the dust this created on my nicely polished desk!  So glad I went to all that pre-mature cleaning work!

Below, you can see Henry helping with the clean up process.  Step 1: shop vac!

We moved our bedroom into the center room (the former office), and I really like this switch as well.  It’s been easier to keep it neat and tidy, and Rick and I have made a commitment to make the bed every day, no matter what, since you have to walk through this room to get to the only bathroom in the house.   We still have some work to do in this room (and throughout the house), but once it’s all done, I’ll post some pictures.

The best part of our new room is the light fixture.  We had a ceiling fan in our old room, so I never got to use it.  It was hanging in old Henry’s room (sans crystals and beads), but now, since that room is the office, and Henry gets the ceiling fan,  I finally get to have it.  We put it on a dimmer, and I spent about two hours trying to remember the bead configuration, but I really love this mini-chandelier.

Henry is loving his new room as well.  He has (almost literally) twice the playing space that he had before.  He’s been sleeping well, and seems to really like the new set up!  As soon as we get the other bed in there, I post pictures of that too.

In the midst of all this moving and redecorating, I started craving peanut butter cookies.  Henry was happy to help on that front as well.  He was especially good at making the fork marks in the cookie dough!  But his favorite part was “sprinkling” the sugar on the top.  Even on the baked cookies!  ;)
