Things have been busy around here, getting ready for spring and the baby and what have you. I’ve been neglecting the personal side of my blog lately.
Well, no more! Today I will post a few pictures and attempt to catch up. The To-Do list can wait!
Henry’s been having his own journeys and adventures these last few weeks. Rick took him out on one of our nicer days recently to work on pedaling his trike. He’s been doing great! I know it won’t be long before I see him riding around with Tadbit, or rocks and sticks, or something in that back bucket of his.
He’s been loving the outdoors lately. Diggin’ holes in the garden, playing in the back yard with his lawn mower, and chasing the chickens with his big Tonka truck. Lots of fun.
We’re also into our third week of swimming lessons. Henry is LOVING it. He was totally afraid of the water the first day, but he is turning into quite the water bug. Here’s a picture that Rick got this morning. It’s a bit dark (make sure to click for the best view), so when I get a better one, I’ll post it.
What else? Oh, we took Henry to our next door neighbor’s birthday party last weekend at Amazing Jakes. What a fun place! There were all kinds of rides and games for the kiddos and an unlimited buffet, even if you stayed all day for two meals. Henry rode the mini roller coaster and the train (his favorite). But we also took him on the “Slime Buckets” (basically the tea cup ride, only not so Alice and Wonderland-ish).
THAT was hilarious! He wanted to spin, so I spun it… he turned white and then about four shades of green, finally ending with a color resembling puce. I slowed the spinning and tried to get him to stop looking around (he was looking for Rick, who was on the sidelines, laughing at the prospect of me wearing Henry’s lunch). Luckily, he did not puke. He was just very dizzy.
So cute and funny though.
We are waiting for things to slow down a bit at Rick’s work. He’s been in charge of a big project there, and thankfully it’s almost done, so we can have him back! It’s been a lot of hours and hard work for him, and he’s been sick through most of it, so we will all be relieved when it is finished.
In the mean time, I’ve been making up our 2009 garden plan, and making scale drawings of each of the rooms in our house to figure out just how we will rearrange things before the baby is born.
I think we will be moving the office to Henry’s room since it’s the smallest, Henry (and the new baby) to our room, since it’s the biggest, and Rick and I will be in the middle.. the former office. I’m really excited about this, but Rick doesn’t seem to be. Probably because he’ll have to do most of the heavy lifting, I’m guessing.
I’m really grateful that our neighbor, Doug, has offered to give us a twin size bed (he doesn’t need or use it) for Henry, so we will be able to put the baby in the crib. Eventually we’ll get both the kids matching twin beds for their room, but that is a long time from now… probably two and a half to three years at least.
I also have a big sewing project on the docket, and a few little ones as well. That To-Do List just keeps growing, the closer I get to July!
I better call this good for now and get to it. Or maybe I’ll do something else instead.

great updates. great to know that you are all doing good. we too are trying to decide what to put in the garden this year. i DO know that i will have the ‘right’ size of tomatoes this year. miss you TONS!
