Hi friends! In lieu of my planned TT tip this week, I am “donating” this blog post to ask again for your support for our favorite event of the year!
We have just over a week before the Romp! Rick, Henry and I are so excited to get out there and snowshoe a 5k for the cure! You can expect to see some fun photos of the family at the big event on March 7th.
I am writing again because Rick and I still have a LONG way to go to meet our team’s goal. We have had awesome support in the past, and we know things are a lot tougher this year (even the team is smaller). If you even have $5 or $10 dollars to donate, it is appreciated. And if you can’t donate but know someone who might, please forward them this info (particularly our donation website)! This is our final big push before we get out there!
An important reminder: By the time it takes you to read through this blog, another woman in the US will have been diagnosed with breast cancer, and in about the time it takes to open up and read over an email attachment, another woman will have died from breast cancer.
Tubbs Snowshoes (the event sponsor) is excited to offer an event that not only gets people active through snowshoeing, but helps to rid the world of breast cancer forever! You can be a part of this fight by donating to Susan G. Komen as a part of your involvement in the Romp. It only takes a few minutes to send out an email to friends and family, but the impact can mean the world to a woman who receives a mammogram early enough to be a survivor rather than a statistic.
Colorado Romp to Stompers have always done an incredible job raising funds for the Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure! We still have a long way to go to meet our goal of $125,000. Please consider making a donation or asking a few friends to support our involvement in this event through a donation. Remarkably, it is during the times when giving might seem impossible that we can experience the greatest reward.
Please go to the team’s secure site: http://www.active.com/donate/RompCO/YetiBetties2009 and make a donation to help women here in Colorado win the fight! Or you can mail your donation to us (leave me a comment, and I’ll send you the address).
Even if you can’t donate, please spread the word (and the website) through email or your own blog!
Thank you for the support!
