Rick Should Get One!!

Rick’s cousin, Gerad, has been tormenting his mother, aunts and grandma with his motorcycle for quite a while now.  The worry they exude is palpable.  I hope I don’t get him in trouble with this post.

I mean no offense to anyone, but of all Rick’s cousins, Gerad is my favorite.  He loves his family.  He is respectful, charming, funny, and makes every woman in the family feel like his favorite.  But my favorite part about him is his slight rebellion.  Nothing bad, just a body piercing, tasteful (and artistic) tattoos and of course the motorcycle.   Gerad is easy to laugh and quick to put me at ease if I’m ever stressed about being with my in-laws.

And his generous spirit was displayed when I asked him for a ride on his bike last weekend.  He promised that at the next family event we had, he’d bring his extra helmet and take me for a ride.

So today was the day.  He arrived at Scott’s graduation party and asked if I was ready.  He brought an extra helmet, and (chivalrously) let me wear his jacket and gloves.  And the family crowded outside, snapping pictures, as he gave me instructions about leaning with his turns and fastening my helmet, and to please not grab too tightly on his left side – the ink’s still drying on his newest tat – an incredibly sexy (can I say that about my husband’s cousin?) tiger down the side of his chest.

He was taking me to work at Re/Max.  Not far, just down 136th to Huron to 120th, and then a block over to the office.  On the neighborhood streets he accelerated a few times.. enough to get my blood running, and then he opened up on a quiet smooth stretch along Huron.  When he started to slow, I glanced at the speedometer as it passed 88 MPH.

Yes, today, I rode on the back of a motorcycle.  And it was thrilling, terrifying, fun, exciting and well, um, since this a family blog I can’t go into too much more detail.  All I can say is, Rick should get one.

Sooo…someday I’ll be as sexy as my cousin, and have a motorcycle, and a tattoo, and be everyone’s favorite, and…and…and… :D

Uncle Dan and I used to ride a small motorcycle. We took several small trips around Kentucky. It was great. And yes there is a free feeling when you ride.

Not so much fun were the two times we went down. Once was on an oil slick road waiting for a light change. The other was on small rocks on a curve we didn’t quite make.

I’ve enjoyed checking you out. Keep up the fun.
