This weekend was the second weekend in a row that we’ve spent out in the garden – ah! it’s so good for the soul!! Rick and I planted radishes, lettuce (two kinds), spinach, onions, and peas so far. In the next week, we intend to get the carrots in, and get things prepped for the big planting that we may risk a little early this year – last weekend of April we’re thinking. :Hope we don’t make a mistake!! And Henry’s been having a blast digging in the dirt with the garden tools that the Easter bunny brought!
Among all that, I’ve been getting a little more creative! I checked out Betz White’s book, Warm Fuzzies, a while back, and ever since, I’ve been dying to try one of her projects. I finally did it. She offered this great tutorial on her blog, and I went for it. I made it for my sister’s birthday, and it was a hit! Check out the finished product:
I reused an old pink sweater that Rick didn’t like on me any more for the main part. The flowers and leaves are from sweaters I picked up at Savers for the project. I appliqued them onto the bag by hand, and it was really quite easy and fun!
I’m quite proud of myself! It’s my first try at using a felted wool sweater to make something, and I found it to be so much fun! It’s almost like instant gratification! I hope to fit more into my schedule!
Next, a couple of cute cupcake pics for my friend Rach – these are from Mulberries on S. Pearl, for Cat’s bday. Yum! They were so good, and they even made a Babycake for Henry!!
And lastly, a quick pic or two of the H-bug climbing at his first ever gymnastics adventure. Ever since we went on Friday, he’s been climbing everywhere… he can even get on the couch all by himself!
