Look Out! He’s Mobile!

That’s right, Henry can roll over both ways.  He’s been able to go from his tummy to his back since before he was two months old.  BUT, last night Henry rolled from his back to his tummy for the first time.  And we both missed it.

He was on some blankets in the living room while Rick and I were making dinner.  We kept popping out heads around to check on him, and all of the sudden his was on his tummy looking back at us!  I got so excited… jumping up and down all over the kitchen.  Rick ran and put him back on his back, and POP! right back to his tummy he went!

So, of course, today he dive-bombed off the couch for the first time too.  Usually, every morning after he wakes up, I change his diaper, and set him on the couch while I go wash my hands and grab something for breakfast.  Today I thought… maybe I shouldn’t leave him here since he can roll now… but of course I did, and predictably I hear a plop-plop! while I’m in the kitchen.  I ran in there and scooped him up, saying whoops!  I fed him right away, and he really didn’t even have a chance to cry.  No bumps or bruises, I don’t think he even hit his head… but I was freaked out!

Later this morning, he played on the floor while I ate my oatmeal.  And over and over he went.  I think he likes his new found mobility.

While Henry was napping today, I took the liberty of improving the chicken’s box.  They have rapidly outgrown the big microwave box we had them in.  So I brough Henry’s highchair in from the garage, set it up, and used the box as a new house for the chicks.  I figured they’d out grow it quickly too, so I cut and taped and finagled a new domicile by combining the two boxes…  hee hee hee… you should see their new redneck home.  But they seem really happy with the extra space, so I guess it’s worth it since they have to stay inside for a good four weeks more.  Also, I added my olive boat, full of chicken food, to the box and they seem to like it.

*Sigh*  I just looked out the window.  It’s so deceitfully sunny out there.  But alas, it is really windy.  It looks so sunny and warm, but there’s a killer wind that is freezing!

Yesterday the weather was perfect.  Rick and I took Henry and the chicks outside to play and stayed out in the yard for about a hour and a half just soaking up the sun and laughing at the chicken antics.  I can’t wait until they get to be outside everyday.  I can’t wait until I can be outside everyday!  And I am eagerly awaiting my pea, radish, carrot, lettuce, etc. sprouts…  annny day now.  Any day!

Dum dum duuuuummmmmm…I seen it with my own two eyes! He’s mobile and he’s very silly about it. He sits there after he’s rolled over to his tummy and he screams and cries because he doesn’t like to be on his tummy. It’s really quite funny!
